Green Reaper
Gardening, Growing and Horticultural Services
Mission Statement:
Greetings! - I’m Grim and I’ve been working with all things green and growing for longer than I care to mention. I’ve been going out as freelance since having to find a new way of making a living due to Covid lockdown and so now bring my horticultural experience, knowledge and enthusiasm for gardens and growing to those locally in need of assistance in their outside spaces.
I can tidy and maintain your garden, sort out any problem areas, undertake new projects and can help to plan with a client towards the creation of their ideal garden, whether minimal, formal, cottage, wildlife-orientated, productive, permaculture or any combination of the above.
As I cycle to my clients and I choose not to use noisy petrol-powered machinery I have decided to promote Green Reaper as being carbon-neutral and of course I am highly environmentally-friendly, a champion recycler and am almost 100% organic! (Do my fillings count?)
I hope I can help. If you think I may, please do get in contact.

"I have a very small garden but have employed Grim’s services a couple of times to keep up with the weeding and pruning. He has extensive knowledge of how to care for plants and is passionate about doing this in an environmentally friendly way. He is full of great advice and I have asked him for suggestions about making my outside space nicer and more wildlife-friendly. He has excellent ideas which he is willing to implement. A lovely, helpful chap with lots of experience who does a superb job each time."

Frequently Asked Questions
Why 'Green Reaper'?
I've 'Grim' rather than Graham since a teenager and aside from being very environmentally-minded I work without the use of fossil fuels unless absolutely neccesary. I cycle to clients, use manual tools almost exclusively and my 'angle' or 'style' is very much towards re-using, recycling and letting nature get on with being incredible with minimal interference or nudging from me. The results are generally as naturalistic or organic as is feasible.
What's your horticultural and gardening experience?
I grew up as a 'nature-kid' living on a market garden and have been a freelance gardener off and on throughout my life. This has been between gaining a degree in of Evolution in Portsmouth, being a parks and gardens operative in Brighton, museum assistant in Maidstone, geophysicist in Sussex and most recently; spending seven years working as a Horticultural Support Worker for adults with learning disabilities (Bells Piece). Green-fingered gardening and growing is pretty much in my blood.
Do you bring your own tools?
As much as I can easily carry with me, yes. Larger implements if needed are usually provided by the client.
Can you dispose of garden waste and 'green' rubbish?
Although I can sometimes take away reasonable amounts of waste, my preference is to re-use 'rubbish' wherever I can, either as compost, mulch, wildlife habitat or any one of a thousand other useful roles.
How much do you charge?
I have a flat rate of £15 per hour worked which can be easily paid for in cash, PayPal, bank transfer or cheque.
